Every time I look up, I see somebody on the news talking about their daughter, and how she got shot at school.
Knowing you can run
But know that you can’t hide
Reading about his brother, getting washed away in the tide.
Getting shot over a color, stealing from a church, feeling all the pain and the lives that you took.
Nothing how it use to be, fights, murder, and gangs
I wish it all would change.
Money, cars, and clothes would put you all in vein, reading in the news “a prostitute found slain.”
I wish I could erase time, so it wouldn’t be the same, losing my friends and family to street slang.
I want to change it all, so I can laugh again, because some times I don’t remember your name.
It all adds up to murder, my life taken again over and over again, make a change or life gets flushed down the drain.
