by A.K. RodgersMperor, a St. Louis based rap artist and lecturer, sat down with Corner Pocket to discuss his message to the community.
AK:Do you consider yourself a poet or a rapper?
M: Some people don't see the difference between rap and poetry. I do. I'm a rapper.
AK: What's your message?
M: Black people are more than niggas and thugs. We are definitely kings and queens. Don't be a nigga.
AK: What is your latest project?
M: My latest project is "Mperor's Blessings." I bless other artists and I'm pushing a video.
AK: What are you trying to say in your project?
M:Reestablishing trust and love between black people. We really don't know who we are.
AK:How did you start off rapping?
M:I started off doing poetry. I wanted to impress the ladies. Then I started rapping. Also, a dude I knew let me know about my talent.
