The Scene of Reminiscence
by Rannie Mccaston IV

The woman that endured pain throughout the past years,
Promised to forget that troublesome memory,
But once she views the acts of bloodshed and the tears,
That situation on the news hindered her peace,
Here’s Chyanne’s story…………

Situation 1

This life that I have been living has been a hell experience for me. Every day I continue to keep my faith waiting for the day I can receive my miraculous blessings. But every day I wonder if I can live to vision the next day. I don’t think I can continue to live like this, this life of depressing scenes that occur oh so frequently. My life as a child has already been a long journey for me. Living through stab wounds from a step father, losing your mother through a terrible murder, starting off high school on a rocky note, how could have it gotten worse?

Situation 2

The day of remembering my past is the one thing, I didn’t want to relive some day. I mean sure my past couldn’t never really be erased from my mind, but it all started to come back to me the day entertainment sparked those memories of that day years ago. It all came back to the light the day I went to the movie theatre. The movie that we went to go see was called “Family Stranger”. It was a popular thriller at the time and everyone was interested in seeing it. If you are like me then you would be able to connect with the emotion, and the story lines of what’s going on in the movie. I was there with my two cousins, Marielle and Monique, they are both older than me but we all respect each other to the fullest. They can really sympathize with what I went through because it’s hard witnessing what had happened. As we were enjoying the movie, we were trying to understand what was going on in the film. We were deeply confused, but as it got further it was ironically familiar…….At this point of the movie someone was about to get killed…….
“This movie would be so much better if I could understand what was going on. Everything seems to happen so fast, but the action is pretty good though,” said Monique.
“It’s not all about the action look more into what’s goin’ on,” replied Marielle.  “Obviously, the main character in the story which is Raiheem, is goin through some difficulties, trying to figure out who is killing members in their family. First it was his aunt, and then it came down to his closest cousin. Now as you see in this scene someone else is about to lose their life. So that means…..”
“Shhhhhhhh….can you all shut up,” whispered someone in the front.
“You shut up we not even talkin that loud!” yelled Monique.
“Look he has a point, lets quiet down,” said Chyanne.
I never had a problem with my friends talking around me really. But it was something about that movie that grabbed my attention. It was something about that movie that made me somewhat uncomfortable, but I had to know more. In the movie, a man was standing over him at night…….(Flashback)………he murdered his mother……..(Flashback)……he tried to murder Chris by stabbing him numerous of times….(Flashback)…….Everything was starting to come all back to me. As I realized what was going on I reacted.
“Oh my God, it can’t be happening,” cried Chyanne.
“What’s wrong with you?” asked Monique.
“You don’t see the comparison between me and this movie!?”
“I can barley understand this movie let alone trying to figure out your situation, just watch the movie and shut up like the man said up there.”
“You’re not listening to me, listen……”
“I understand you completely…” whispered Marielle. “I’m just as shocked as you. It’s almost like someone wrote about your life, turned it into a thriller movie, and displayed it to the public! I know this sounds funny but you need to find out who’s the writer of this movie. It could be someone that knows about your situation with your family, they could be connected to who murdered your mother. Take the chance to research it.”
“I need to get up out of here, this is too much for me, I can’t take this any longer!” panicked Chyanne.
“Girl you just need to chill out it might be almost over,” said Monique.
“NO I GOTTA GO!”
“WOULD YOU SHUT UP AND GET OUT ALREADY!!!!! NOBODY CARES ABOUT WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY!!!!!!!!” yelled someone else in the front.
“Look, whoever that is better shut up, before I yell though this whole movie, try me!” yelled Monique.
There was a complete silence in the room.
“More like it, peace and quiet.”

Situation 3

I left the movie theater crying about what I seen. Not realizing that there were people around me. I didn’t care though that was too much to deal with. Seconds later Marielle came out to check on me.
“I know that was hard but can you calm down, we can all talk about this at home. Right now is not a good time to break down, okay.”
“Yeah, but I took in consideration about what you said earlier. Do you think that movie could be just a coincidence? I mean it’s just a movie and all.”
“Chyanne no, it was too close to the real situation, all they did was change the main character to a boy. If you don’t want to look more into it, I understand. We can just go home and……..”
“No, now that I think about it, this can be my search; this is the time I will find the truth. I will find my mother’s murderer.”

This is the time where I find the truth,
I’ve been down for so long hiding from my past,
I’m ready to start my life a new,
Now that I’m on my track there’s no turning back.
